W.H. Hadow was an English composer, educator, and writer. Educated at Oxford, he received music training in Germany before accepting a teaching post at Oxford. Although he composed numerous pieces, he made his mark as a lecturer and author on music, culminating in his appointment as general editor of the Oxford History of Music.
